Jennifer Rasmusson was born in Provo, Utah. She began her studies at Salt Lake Community College, in Salt Lake City Utah, and attended both Lyme Academy of Fine Art, Old Lyme, Connecticut, and Dundas Valley School of Arts, Ontario, Canada. Currently, she lives in Southern Utah. Her textural, painterly works examine the ever-changing relationship that an artist develops with a certain subject. In her words, "painting to me is like a conversation; I may have an idea of what I want to say but there is that process of give and take that happens when I put a mark down on the canvas … there are always pleasant surprises.”
